Off and on, there have been domestic ducks here on the farm for as long as anyone remembers. My grandmother, Elsie, used to get angry that they would steal the cat food! With nearly a quarter-mile of stream flowing through the pasture, we have an idyllic setting for them. While they are mainly here for the aesthetic appeal they provide, we do occasionally have duck eggs and roasting ducks for sale.
If you are looking for something a bit different this Thanksgiving, we have a very limited quantity available for November 19. They will be vacuum-packed for freezing if not using fresh.
At one time, we provided duck eggs to 1794: The Whiskey Rebellion on the market square in Carlisle. They made a lovely deviled egg platter with them.
